My partner in my upcoming new publishing business (it will be focusing on original manga and light novels created by talent around the world), Adrian Knight, has been my friend for more than ten years. About 7 years ago, we came up with the story of a pair of boys that were total opposites, yet got involved with each other, purely to satisfy our fangirl leanings. I drew a lot of crappy pictures, and together we came up with an entire story, an entire world for them. Recently, I’ve been thinking that I would like to draw a manga featuring them, because the story is actually quite interesting. There are a few other things on my plate (so to speak!), and the story needs a complete overhaul, but I will do it! It’s in the list. For sure.
Alix Cyrano is a 19 year old with an overdeveloped sense of justice and vengeance. He attacks those who prey upon others and deals punishment where some would weasel their way out of just comeuppance. He has few hobbies. He isn’t really good at taking care of himself and tends to be rather messy. During the day, he play the part of a normal young man and works part time in a corner shop. At night, he hunts down people that he considers evil and eliminates them. The rest of the time, he is either sleeping or researching potential targets from the library computer.
Ytheru is a paradox. A 19-year old himself, he has the typical rich-kid complex of being brought up with the best education and wanting for nothing, yet his entire life is consumed by boredom. He lives off of his parents’ money while they travel around the world attending to business, and the genius passes all of his college courses with ease. When he hears the reports of an unknown vigilante, righting wrongs that the police could not, he has an idea. He plants evidence implicating himself in a series of crimes, with the express intent of bringing him face to face with the rumored vigilante. When this happens, one dark night, and Alix and Ytheru come face-to-face, it sets off a passionate chain of events that neither of them could have ever anticipated.
